Founded in 1983, HDO Architects-Planners is a full service Architecture firm which has the ability to develop and manage quality projects from conception through planning, design, implementation and closeout.

HDO has provided site planning and architectural services for a wide variety of projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and Western United States. We have an extensive portfolio of multi-family and mixed-use projects with densities from 16 units per acre to 270 units per acre and ranging in size from 21 units to 540 units.

HDO has been recognized for creating buildings that make a positive contribution to their community. The Shattuck Avenue lofts was the 1995 winner of the Ahwahnee award of merit for resource-efficient Communities and was published in BUILDER Magazine. HDO Architects-Planners have also been chosen for the 2000 and 2002 "Excellence in Design" award by the Downtown Berkeley Association.
